Position: Maintenance Technician
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Job Status: Part-time, Onsite (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM). Availability on Saturdays and Sundays is required, along with either Monday or Friday.
Pay: $22/hr.- $23/hr
Location: 4206 Macleod Trail South, Calgary AB. T2G 2R7
Your Day to Day:The Maintenance Technician duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Regular Maintenance, Repairs, and Building Improvements:
- Inspect operating conditions of all equipment and log information daily.
- Inspect alarm, call, and security systems and log information daily.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform or assist with service work.
- Implement a preventive maintenance schedule.
- Maintain logs of daily routines, general repairs, and scheduled maintenance items on all equipment.
- Prioritize maintenance requests and schedule workload efficiently.
- Provide support or instruction to staff operating the community's equipment.
- Implement programs that conserve and save energy for lighting and other equipment.
- Take initiative in gaining knowledge and skills relating to the maintenance position.
- Participate in facility events.
- Always maintain a neat appearance and wear clean, safe, and presentable clothing.
- Wear rubber-soled, steel-toed safety shoes when needed.
- Assist the General Manager and management in drills.
- Maintain certification schedules for fire systems.
- Comply with fire regulations.
- Implement all repair and maintenance activities in a safe manner, adhering to Work Safe Alberta regulations.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Minimum three years’ work experience in building or facility maintenance.
- A certificate in a specialized field such as Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, Carpentry, or Plumbing is an asset but not required.
- Knowledge of general building, painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating systems, and gardening tasks.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Swimming pool certification or pool handling experience is preferred.
- Current WHMIS.
- Current First Aid/CPR.
- Must be available in an emergency, On-Call, when required.
