Culinary Manager

Reports to: General Manager
Job Status: Full-Time
Location: 599 William Ave, Greater Sudbury, ON P3A 5W3 
Compensation: 50,000 to 52,000 Annually 

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, service, and food quality.
  • Ensure meals meet dietary, nutritional, and presentation standards.
  • Manage food inventory, ordering, and kitchen costs.
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Supervise, schedule, and support cooks, servers, and kitchen staff.
  • Review staff timesheets and assist with training and performance management.
  • Assist with menu planning, special events, and resident dietary needs.
  • Prepare operational reports and collaborate with other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Table

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Services Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of culinary or kitchen management experience.
  • Food Handler Certificate.
  • First Aid & CPR Certification.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and kitchen management systems.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Nice to Have

  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
  • Experience in retirement living, long-term care, or hospitality.
  • Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and staff scheduling.
  • Passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience for seniors.
