Position: Guest Attendant
Reports to: Health and Wellness Manager
Job Status: Ongoing Part-Time, Onsite
Hours: 7:00am–3:00pm, 3:00pm–11:00pm, and 11:00pm–7:00am (overnight).
Location: 1022 Pembroke St East, Pembroke, ON K8A 8A7
Pay: $17.60/hour
Your Day to Day:
The Guest Attendant provides safe, compassionate, and resident-centered care by supporting daily resident needs, medication routines, and community operations while promoting resident dignity, comfort, and well-being.Specifically, the Guest Attendant will be responsible for:
- Respond to resident call bells and provide assistance with daily care needs while ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity.
- Administer medications and treatments, prepare medication carts, monitor supplies, coordinate refills, and maintain accurate medication records in accordance with policies and regulations.
- Complete resident wellness checks, monitor changes in condition or behaviour, and report concerns to the Health and Wellness Manager or designate.
- Support dining services by completing resident census checks, monitoring resident well-being, providing tray service, and assisting dining staff as required.
- Aprons must be worn when serving in dining rooms.Complete required documentation, including charting, MARs, narcotic counts, communication logs, wellness checklists, and shift reports.
- Assist residents with escorts, transfers, supervision, laundry, linen changes, and other support services
- .Maintain a safe and organized environment by sanitizing equipment, tidying nursing stations, and reporting safety concerns or maintenance issues.
- Participate in shift handovers, emergency procedures, fire safety protocols, welcome new residents, and complete other duties assigned by the Manager or designate.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Gerontology, Social Services, Healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, healthcare, or seniors’ living is preferred.
- Compassionate and respectful approach when supporting older adults.Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or as part of a team.
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Medical clearance required.Flexible availability to work days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
Nice to have:
- Experience with medication administration, MAR documentation, and medication carts.
- Knowledge of senior living operations and resident care practices.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and general applications.
- Additional languages are an asset to support a diverse resident community.
- CPR and First Aid certification
