Position Job Title: Business Technology Management Instructor
Location: CDI Burbaby (Remote)
Reports To: Campus Director
Schedule: Monday-Friday (20 hours per week)
Compensation: $30-$33/hr
Responsibilities
The Business Technology Management Instructor is responsible for delivering instruction and facilitating student learning in subjects that integrate business principles with technology management. Instruction will follow the prescribed curriculum and industry-aligned practices to prepare students for success in the evolving field of business technology.
The instructor will, at various times, be responsible for the following, as well as other related duties as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the Company:
- Engage professionally with students, colleagues, and staff, fostering a respectful and supportive learning environment
- Deliver instruction aligned with curriculum and program objectives using current and relevant examples
- Prepare lesson plans and diverse teaching materials to support different learning styles and promote student engagement
- Teach key topics including digital transformation, information systems, data analytics, and IT project management
- Provide clear guidance on course expectations, assignments, and grading, and offer timely feedback to support student progress
- Monitor and report student performance, maintain accurate records, and meet all grading and reporting deadlines
- Collaborate in the development and continuous improvement of course materials and participate in regular faculty meetings
- Notify the Campus Director of any significant issues or disruptions during the course
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to ensure course content remains relevant and up to date
- Schedule make-up sessions when necessary and contribute to orientation activities when feasible
To be successful in the Student Services Leader position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining, and demonstrating the following:
Education and Experience
- A degree, diploma, or certification in Business Technology Management, Information Systems, or a closely related field from a recognized institution
- Two or more years of industry experience in business technology or IT management
- Instructional or training experience in a post-secondary or corporate setting
- Satisfy specific qualifications required by program design and accreditation standards
Skills and Abilities
- Current, relevant knowledge in both business practices and technology management
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly
- A passion for education and a commitment to student success
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students in a blended learning environment
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrative teams
- Fairness and sensitivity in handling diverse student needs and backgrounds
- Familiarity with business applications, databases, cloud solutions, project management tools, and digital platforms used in the industry
- Knowledge of AI use in business technology is an asset
