Job Status: Part-time, Onsite
Practicum Location: Rosewood Manor, 6260 Blundell Road, Richmond, BC V7C 5C4 OR hospitals (Richmond, Vancouver Gen, or Lions Gate)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: 8 to 12 Hours Shifts, 3-4 Days Per Week, Mon to Fri
Salary: LPN $36/hr -- RN $40/hr
Your Day to Day:
- Specifically, the Instructor will be responsible for:
- Delivering instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum
- Evaluating student performance fairly and consistently
- Contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
- Supporting the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience
- Acting in a manner that upholds the College standards
- Participating in College and Program Activities
- Monitoring and reviewing students during practicum and/or clinical placements, as program requires
What You Bring to the Table:
- Current license with BCCNM.
- Three or more recent, full-time years' experience in the field with acute care experience.
- Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College in a relevant discipline.
- A credential in adult education or willingness to pursue the PID at an accredited post-secondary institution is required.
- Facilitates learning on exacerbations of chronic illnesses/ and or presentations of acute illness.
- Facilitate consolidation of skill such as post-operative care, surgical wound management, IV therapy, focused assessment.
- Deliver 200 hours of clinical teaching over a period of 6 weeks and take attendance of students, and supervise safety of students during clinical hours.
- Advocates for learning of students in the acute care setting and monitor their progress.
