We’re looking for a collaborative and relationship-focused Indigenous Relations Advisor to help us grow and strengthen these partnerships in the Manitoba region.
Location: Winnipeg Campus (on-campus)
Compensation: $58,000-$68,000 - plus Comprehensive Benefits

About The Role
The Indigenous Relations Advisor plays a critical role in advancing Indigenous access to education, supporting student success, and strengthening community-based educational partnerships across Manitoba. This role is focused on strengthening the student experience from enrollment through graduation by working closely with Indigenous students, communities, and internal academic and support teams.
You will act as a bridge between Indigenous communities and the college, helping shape inclusive recruitment practices, culturally relevant supports, and meaningful educational experiences for Indigenous students.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and maintain respectful relationships with Indigenous leadership, communities, and organizations, with a focus on understanding educational goals, workforce aspirations, and community priorities.
- Lead initiatives to increase Indigenous student access, enrollment, retention, and success across academic programs.
- Support Indigenous students by connecting them with academic advising, student services, and culturally responsive resources.
- Partner with academic teams and student support services to help develop and enhance tailored educational supports for Indigenous learners.
- Represent the college at community events, education fairs, workshops, and information sessions to promote educational opportunities and pathways.
- Organize and facilitate community-based sessions to share program information and gather feedback on educational needs and barriers.
- Ensure recruitment and outreach activities are culturally appropriate, respectful, and reflective of community values and traditions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Admissions, Operations, Academics, Legal, and Student Services) to support educational partnerships and program alignment.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Indigenous education and engagement strategies.
- Track outreach and engagement outcomes, assess educational impact, and provide recommendations to improve student experience and success.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Strong understanding of and connection to First Nations cultures and communities in Manitoba.
- Demonstrated commitment to education, equity, and Indigenous student success.
- Experience in education, student recruitment, community outreach, or learner support.
- Knowledge of the systemic barriers Indigenous learners may face in accessing and completing post-secondary education.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Manitoba.
Bonus Points For:
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting Indigenous students in their academic journeys.
- Familiarity with CRM systems or other management tools is a plus.
