Position: Application Support Specialist
Location: Campus Support Centre: 960 Quayside Dr, New Westminster, BC V3M 6G2
Reports To: Campus Support Centre Director, Business Analysis Marketing and Technology
Salary: $55,000-$60,000
Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday; 8 am-4:30 pm
Primary Purpose
The Application Support Specialist supports the Corporate Marketing and Technology department in various business functions. Reporting to the Director of Business Analysis, Marketing, and Technology, this role involves data analysis, issue troubleshooting, technical support, software testing, and other related duties in software development and maintenance.
Specific Responsibilities
The Application Support Specialist will be responsible for:
- Providing help desk support for staff, faculty, and students
- Analyzing marketing and student data
- Generating reports
- Software testing and troubleshooting
- Assisting in the maintenance and efficiency of software systems
- Supporting marketing and web development initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Additional responsibilities include:
- Responding to and resolving help desk inquiries or escalating them to developers
- Documenting system specifications and training materials
- Providing training to software users
- Collecting, compiling, and analyzing student and marketing data from CRM and other sources
- Recommending and supporting improved procedures and policies
- Providing application support in troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Adhering to compliance and security measures at all times
Position Requirements
Education & Experience
- Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized University or College
- Minimum one year of experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Skills & Abilities
- Strong verbal, written, problem-solving, and active listening skills
- Professional attitude and commitment to quality service
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
- Good command of basic math
- Typing speed of at least 40 WPM with accuracy
- General understanding of the company’s programs and services
