Position Job Title: Content Specialist

Location: Primacorp Head Office – New Westminster, BC
Reports To: Digital Marketing Manager / Head of Marketing
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (In-Office)
Employment Type: Full-Time, In-Person
Salary: $50,000-$60,000 + comprehensive benefits


PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Content Specialist plans, develops, and executes high-quality digital and offline content in support of current marketing strategies, search engine optimization (SEO), pay-per-click (PPC) performance, lead generation, and revenue growth across multiple college brands.

This role has a strong focus on pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns and their associated landing pages, ensuring all copy is clear, compelling, on-brand, and optimized for conversion. The Content Specialist plays a key role in shaping the organization’s voice and messaging, ensuring consistency and quality across all marketing touchpoints while delivering a seamless and engaging user experience across web, email, social, and print channels.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this position include developing new and updated content for our websites and micro-sites with an emphasis on SEO, PPC performance, and user experience. The successful applicant must be creative, process-oriented, and willing to learn and apply the company’s web marketing strategy. Specifically, this position is responsible for:

  • Writing and optimizing copy for PPC campaigns (search, display, and social as applicable), including headlines, descriptions, ad variations, and extensions for A/B testing.
  • Developing and optimizing landing page content that aligns with PPC campaigns and other marketing initiatives, with a focus on clarity, relevance, and conversion.
  • Creating content for marketing collateral, including brochures, direct mail pieces, print advertisements, web copy, customer success stories, news stories, newsletters, email campaigns, press releases and media pitches, multimedia presentations, sales materials, corporate pitches, proposals, and presentations.
  • Acting as a storyteller by creating and curating shareable content for web, social, and offline initiatives, and developing compelling content that inspires positive engagement and brand loyalty across our college brands.
  • Proactively managing social media engagement from a content perspective, including monitoring conversations, feedback, and questions, and identifying items that require attention or escalation.
  • Cross-functionally managing a coordinated editorial calendar of themes, content, and messaging, including social posts, web content, PPC campaigns, and landing pages.
  • Implementing content processes and creating content that drives a consistent, relevant, and brand-aligned message across all communication channels.
  • Working with third-party writers, videographers, photographers, and other vendors in the development of content as needed.
  • Collaborating with campus stakeholders and internal teams to create and provide relevant marketing collateral and gather program, student, and campus information for use in campaigns and landing pages.
  • Proofreading, editing, and correcting content to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Supporting the measurement and optimization of content performance by partnering with the digital/analytics team and using available data to refine PPC ads, landing pages, and other content.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in the Content Specialist position, an individual must be committed to developing, maintaining, and demonstrating the following:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with communications and online content production.
  • Experience writing and optimizing content for digital marketing channels, including PPC ads and landing pages.
  • Working knowledge of PPC and analytics, with the ability to interpret performance data and use it to improve content effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience tailoring content for different formats and channels (e.g., website, blog, email, PPC, social media, print).

Skills and Abilities

  • Self-starter, capable of working both independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of web writing tactics and how they differ by channel (e.g., social vs. blog, website vs. press release, PPC ad vs. print ad).
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with the entire marketing organization to reach goals.
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to make a meaningful contribution through high-quality communications and content.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and comfortable working with web-based tools and content management systems.
