Content Specialist 

 

Location: Primacorp Head Office (New Westminster, BC)

Job Type: Full-time, On-site

Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 per year 

Additional: Candidates who are shortlisted for the role will be asked to provide a writing sample

 

Position Summary

The Content Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and executing web and marketing strategies to support growth, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and brand alignment. You will act as a storyteller, ensuring that all content across our digital and physical platforms provides an exceptional user experience and drives positive engagement.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Develop diverse marketing collateral, including web copy, brochures, direct mail, print advertisements, customer success stories, newsletters, email campaigns, press releases, media pitches, and corporate presentations.

  • Web Strategy & SEO: Execute web strategy to support marketing goals; develop content for existing websites and new micro-sites with a heavy emphasis on SEO best practices.

  • Brand Storytelling: Create and curate shareable content for web, social, and offline initiatives to inspire engagement and foster brand loyalty across our college brands.

  • Social Media Management: Proactively manage social media engagement, including monitoring conversations, feedback, and questions.

  • Editorial Management: Cross-functionally manage a coordinated editorial calendar for themes, messaging, and content distribution across all channels.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with third-party vendors (writers, videographers, photographers) and internal campus stakeholders to produce relevant and high-quality marketing materials.

  • Quality Assurance: Proof, edit, and ensure accuracy across all communication assets.

 

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, English, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications and online content production.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Working knowledge of PPC and analytics.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Strong understanding of web writing tactics (differentiating content styles for Facebook, blogs, websites, press releases, PPC, and print).

  • Soft Skills:

    • Impeccable command of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

    • A self-starter mentality, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

    • Excellent multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.

    • A collaborative, positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
