About the role
Reporting into the VP of HR, we are looking for an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Director to lead both the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our HR function. This role oversees a team of HR professionals and acts as a key advisor and partner to leaders across the business. Specifically, this role takes responsibility for:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of HR professionals across various regions and responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance and support across all areas of human resources
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, offering interpretation and direction on HR policies, programs, and employment legislation.
- Identify, implement, and continuously improve HR processes and systems to support organizational effectiveness and compliance with evolving laws and regulations.
- Manage complex employee relations issues, lead investigations, and represent the organization in employment-related matters.
- Build strong relationships across departments to foster awareness and alignment of HR initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret employment legislation including Human Rights, Employment Standards, Privacy, and Occupational Health and Safety.
- Analyze and report on HR metrics to inform decision-making and support strategic planning.
- Provide cross-regional HR support during peak periods or staff absences.
- Serve as a contributing member of internal committees and special projects as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
We are looking for an individual who is a proactive and motivated HR leader with a passion for driving continuous improvement in a dynamic and evolving environment. Specifically, this role requires the following Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- An HR certificate may be considered with significant relevant experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a people leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS systems; experience with SAP is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Advanced knowledge of employment legislation and HR compliance practices in Canada.

- Strong problem solving, analytical reasoning skills.
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to travel to visit campuses and other sites as required (up to 15% of time)
- Driver’s license and access to own vehicle is preferred.
