Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator
Location: 960 Quayside Dr, New Westminster, BC V3M 6G2
Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually

 

Your Day-to-Day

  • Coordinate with internal teams to assess purchasing needs and support procurement planning
  • Identify sourcing strategies and recommend cost-effective purchasing solutions
  • Research, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors on pricing, quality, and delivery terms
  • Manage RFQs/RFPs, purchase orders, and contract updates
  • Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and agreements
  • Generate invoices as needed and support reconciliation and financial tracking
  • Track orders, shipments, and resolve vendor issues (delays, defects, discrepancies)
  • Maintain vendor relationships and procurement records, including contracts and documentation
  • Support reporting on purchasing metrics, cost analysis, and vendor performance
  • Assist in improving procurement processes, policies, and procedures

 

What You Bring

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate effectively
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement/ERP systems
  • Adaptable, accountable, and able to work independently

Education & Experience

  • Diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3–6 years of experience in procurement or purchasing
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

Nice to Have: 

  • SCMP designation
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains)
  • Exposure to IT or technical procurement
  • Knowledge of contract management and procurement best practices
