Position: Regional Director of Operations

Job Status: Full-time, Onsite

Location: Vancouver, BC

Expected Start Date: December 2024

Reports to: Director of Strategy and Business Development

Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 9 to 5 with flexibility

Salary: 90,000-135,000 per year

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

The purpose of the Regional Director of Operations is to provide leadership, guidance, and support to Campus Directors in keeping with the company’s mission to Change Lives through Education while ensuring attainment of profitability and growth targets.

The Regional Director of Operations takes responsibility for the overall operation of one career college and visits these campuses on a regular basis. Responsibility includes establishing and monitoring financial, sales and service performance targets; recommending course of action to address business issues above the level of authority of Campus Directors; and directly managing and supporting the Campus Directors.

Specifically, The Regional Director of Operations will be responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned:

  • Overseeing the overall operation of multiple campuses;
  • Participating in the development, implementation and monitoring of corporate and regional initiatives for the achievement of college financial sales/service, and educational objectives;
  • Managing Key Performance Indicators and ensuring that action plans are in place that align and support the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values;
  • Providing motivation and guidance to the Admissions Department to achieve sales targets;
  • Advising and acting on Budget and  Variance reports;
  • Ensuring student retention and placement rates meet expected company standards;
  • Regularly facilitating meetings and communicating information with Campus Directors and staff as appropriate;
  • Ensuring internal procedures, regulatory requirements and security controls are in place and adhered to; taking corrective action as necessary;
  • Providing advice, guidance and direction to Campus Directors; approving staffing decisions including hiring, salary, performance evaluation, discipline and terminations;
  • Analyzing, evaluating and recommending course of action to address business issues
  • Working with the Director of Strategy and Business Development in regards to recruitment and other operational issues for assigned new campuses;
  • Analyzing and providing financial oversight to Campus Directors and Director of Strategy and Business Development to achieve budget and fiscal targets;
  • Communicating and reporting to Director of Strategy and Business Development on all items that affect or impact operational performance;
  • Implementing and evaluating action plans to support the strategic objectives of the Career College Division.

  

WHY YOU?

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or education;
  • At least five years’ experience in operational management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation, group facilitation and business writing skills;
  • Ability to provide leadership, direction, coaching and support;
  • Ability to motivate and inspire teamwork;
  • Education sector business operating expertise a plus;
  • Sound financial and budgetary experience;
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction;
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with outside agencies and organizations ;
  • Excellent judgment, problem solving skills with ability to make appropriate decisions in a timely manner;
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm focus during hectic periods;
  • Ability to exhibit a professional attitude and image with a commitment to quality service;
  • Thorough knowledge of and comfortable using current business information technology.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability and commitment to work extra hours as required;
  • Regular and frequent travel to visit campuses, driver’s license required.
