Job Overview
The Financial Consultant will provide critical support to the finance team during the transition to Yardi and throughout the year-end reporting cycle. This role is responsible for troubleshooting Yardi-related issues in collaboration with the vendor, performing intercompany allocations and reconciliations, and addressing the accounting requirements of our real estate and senior living portfolio. The consultant will assist with monthly close processes and contribute to the preparation of year-end financial statements to ensure accurate and timely reporting. This is a hands-on position that requires exceptional attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and prior experience in real estate or senior living accounting environments.
What You Will Do
- Handle all real estate and senior home accounting.
- Oversee intercompany transactions, including payroll expense allocations and multi-entity reconciliations.
- Complete year-end working papers, finance/tax packages, and coordinate with auditors, accountants, banks, and tax authorities.
- Support Yardi Voyager operations, including troubleshooting with Yardi support and assisting senior homes through implementation.
- Utilize Dynamics 365 (D365) for GL, AP/AR, and reporting (asset).
- Maintain strong understanding of property-level financials and senior home operational cost structures.
- Review and enhance internal controls for compliance and efficiency.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to optimize workflow.
- Assist management with special projects and ad-hoc reporting.
- CPA designation or CPA program enrollment considered an asset.
What You Will Bring
- Completion of post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Accounting or Finance. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of five (5) years' accounting or finance experience in a service-oriented environment.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- CPA designation or enrollment in the CPA Capstone program is considered an asset.

- Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task
- Experienced user of accounting software (Yardi, Quickbooks, Great Plains)

- Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude and pleasant demeanor.
