Position: On Call Educator - Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Location: Tiny Scholars Playschool –  Surrey

Pay: $20 per hour 

Job Type: Ongoing Part-time 

 

 

Position Summary

The Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) supports the delivery of high-quality early learning programs by assisting Early Childhood Educators with daily activities, child supervision, and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Early Childhood Educators with daily programs, routines, and age-appropriate activities.

  • Support children’s safety, supervision, development, and positive behaviour.

  • Prepare learning materials and maintain a clean, organized classroom.

  • Assist with meals, snacks, rest periods, and daily transitions.

  • Observe children’s development and report concerns to the Educator or Supervisor.

  • Promote inclusive practices and positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Comply with centre policies, licensing requirements, and health and safety procedures.

  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certificate or diploma in Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC), Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA), or Early Learning and Education Assistant (ELEA) from a recognized institution.

  • Valid ECEA certification with the BC Early Childhood Educator Registry, or eligibility to apply.

  • Valid Child Care First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.

  • Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector screening.

  • Experience working with young children is an asset.
