Clinic Instructor & Supervisor – Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) Program

Location: Vancouver Career College – Abbotsford Campus
Start Date: October 6, 2025
Reports To: Campus Director / RMT Coordinator
Employment Type: Casual, Part-Time

Hours: Monday-Friday am 8:30start 1:00pmstart

2 classes per day

Theory classes are 3 hours long, practical classes 3.5hr

Clinical supervisor shifts between 4-6 hours when the clinic is open on Thursday/Friday


Compensation:

  • Clinic Supervision: $40.00 per hour

  • RMT Instruction: $45.00 – $50.00 per hour


About the Role

Vancouver Career College Abbotsford is seeking a Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) Clinic Instructor & Supervisor to play a vital role in training and mentoring future massage therapy professionals.

This dual-role position involves classroom instruction as well as hands-on clinical supervision, supporting students through their academic journey and practicum experiences. You will help students gain the practical skills, confidence, and professionalism required for a successful career in massage therapy.


Key Responsibilities

1. Classroom Instruction & Student Development

  • Deliver engaging, effective lessons aligned with program curriculum and learning objectives.

  • Create dynamic lesson plans and teaching aids tailored to diverse student needs.

  • Provide personalized feedback, track student progress, and support their academic and professional growth.

  • Foster a positive, professional, and respectful learning environment.

  • Ensure all online and in-class materials are current and relevant.


2. Clinical Supervision & Practical Training

  • Oversee the student clinic, ensuring a safe, professional, and compliant environment.

  • Guide students through real-world client interactions and hands-on practice.

  • Support students in meeting practicum objectives as outlined in the RMT curriculum.

  • Maintain communication with the Campus Director regarding student progress or concerns.

  • Model best practices for professional conduct and client care.


3. Student Evaluation

  • Develop and implement fair, consistent evaluation methods for both academic and clinical performance.

  • Provide meaningful, timely feedback to help students improve their skills and knowledge.

  • Discuss performance individually or in groups to encourage growth and accountability.

  • Maintain accurate records and submit grades according to college guidelines.


4. Program Administration & Collaboration

  • Work closely with administrative staff and fellow instructors to ensure smooth program operations.

  • Complete and submit documentation such as attendance, evaluations, and reports promptly.

  • Participate in curriculum development and updates to keep course content relevant.

  • Engage in performance reviews and teaching evaluations to support ongoing improvement.


5. Upholding College Standards

  • Model professionalism, integrity, and respect in all interactions with students, faculty, and staff.

  • Adhere to Vancouver Career College policies and procedures at all times.

  • Address and report incidents of academic dishonesty or policy violations appropriately.

  • Contribute to the overall success and reputation of the RMT program.


Qualifications

  • Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of BC (CMTBC).

  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2,500 hours of practice (2,000 hours for Teaching Assistants).

  • Previous teaching or supervisory experience is an asset but not required.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for education and commitment to student success.

  • Dedication to continuous learning and staying current in the massage therapy field.
