Position Job Title: Director of Admissions    

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Reports To: Associate Vice President of Admissions    

Job Status: Full-time, permanent, must be eligible to work in Canada     

Compensation: Starting from $80,000 - 90,000 annually + comprehensive benefits 

Must Have: Experience in Art & Design   

Preference: Experience in Domestic admissions sales 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:     

The purpose of the Director of Admissions (DOA) is sourcing, coaching/mentoring, and managing an Admissions team within a Region, to help ensure the Region meets or exceeds the enrollment targets for the Company.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:     

The DOA will be responsible for the following:

  • Providing leadership to their assigned team of Admissions Advisors (up to 30), through:
  • Hiring, training, developing, and coaching/mentoring Admissions staff to maximize sales and ensure all sales staff achieve targets.
  • Managing and communicating with staff in situations of conflict and change, including performance management of underperforming staff. 
  • Coordinate group and individual training and systems implementation. 
  • Continuously monitoring and analyzing student enrollment data to guarantee responsiveness to issues through:
  • Reviewing, implementing, and maintaining objectives and goals.
  • Reporting weekly enrollment and department updates.
  • Recommending progressive and challenging targets for growth.
  • Collaborating with all departments (HR, Academics, Finance, Marketing, etc.) to ensure the Company achieves enrollment goals.
  • Building opportunity networks with others in the community, resulting in increased visibility of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:     

To be successful in the DOA position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following.

Education and Experience: 

  • At least two (2) years of sales management experience in a results-driven, service-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Sales experience (and preferably Sales management experience) with emotionally driven sales decisions, and within a high-volume sales environment (a high volume of calls and a high volume of leads)

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven sales performance history
  • Proven success in coaching/mentorship and training 
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and interact with all individuals with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
  • Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Proven self-starter and problem solver
  • Must be deadline-driven and goal-oriented
  • A positive attitude and customer-focused approach
  • Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion
  • The ability to work independently and effectively manage your work schedule and hours to meet the needs of your staff and the business; this includes frequently working evenings and weekends as required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities 
  • The ability to travel within your assigned Region, which includes possessing a class 5 driver’s license and a vehicle 
  • The ability to travel outside your Region on an infrequent basis (maximum 10% of the time)
