Position Summary
We’re seeking a passionate educator to teach game development and design at a post‑secondary or vocational level. You’ll deliver lectures and hands‑on workshops using industry tools like Unity, C#, and C++. Your mission is to guide students from early concept through prototyping and final projects, providing expert feedback and real‑world insight. You’ll work collaboratively with curriculum teams to ensure content stays current with trends in game mechanics, UX, storytelling, and technical pipelines.
Your Day to Day
- Plan and teach engaging lessons in game engines and programming languages.
- Supervise practical labs and student projects, from 2D platformers to 3D prototypes.
- Assess, grade, and provide constructive feedback on student work, guiding improvements in design, coding, and UX.
- Collaborate on curriculum development and revisions to align with evolving game industry standards.
- Keep industry connections active, integrating case studies, tools, and best practices into coursework.
- Maintain course documentation, attendance and grading records, and participate in program reviews.
What You Will Bring to the Table
- At least 2–5 years of professional experience in game development (production, design, programming, or art).
- Proficiency in game engines, programming and 2D/3D tools.
- Post‑secondary teaching or training experience, with strong communication and presentation skills.
- A portfolio showcasing completed student or professional game projects.
- A degree or equivalent in Game Design, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred for academic roles).
- A student‑centered approach: patience, mentorship mindset, adaptability to feedback, and commitment to diversity, inclusion and continuous course evolution.
