Position Overview:
The Architecture Design & Technology Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction that aligns with curriculum standards and program objectives. The instructor plays a key role in fostering student success, supporting campus operations, and maintaining a professional and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver course content that meets curriculum and program learning objectives.
- Evaluate student performance consistently, fairly, and in a timely manner.
- Monitor, assess, and provide feedback on students’ projects and academic progress.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of curriculum and instructional materials.
- Support campus administrative functions to help enhance the overall student experience.
- Uphold institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a closely related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant industry experience.
- At least three (3) years of experience in construction, either as part of a design team, in a managerial capacity, or in a supervisory role.
- One (1) year of teaching experience or completion of a recognized credential in adult education is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Revit Architecture and AutoCAD at an advanced level.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.
- Excellent organizational skills with a methodical and responsive approach.
- Interest in innovative, student-centered, and multi-modal teaching methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation abilities.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students.
- Professional demeanor and a strong commitment to academic excellence and student support.
- Collaborative and respectful approach when working with colleagues and administrative staff.
- Sensitivity to diverse student needs, and ability to provide appropriate and equitable support.
- Willingness to learn and integrate educational technologies to enhance the student learning experience.
