Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Interior Design Instructor to deliver engaging and industry-relevant instruction to students. The instructor will guide students through the fundamentals and advanced principles of interior design, ensuring they develop the creative, technical, and professional skills required for a successful career in the field.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver course instruction in alignment with the curriculum, program objectives, and institutional standards.
  • Prepare and present lessons, assignments, and assessments using a variety of instructional methods.
  • Teach topics such as space planning, color theory, materials and finishes, drafting, AutoCAD, 3D modeling (e.g., SketchUp, Revit), and design theory.
  • Provide one-on-one support, mentoring, and constructive feedback to students to support their learning and development.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and evaluations.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, integrating them into the learning experience.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field; relevant industry certifications are an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the interior design industry.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
